Marilyn Yanke
Marilyn Yanke lives and paints in her home state of Texas. She graduated from Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Okla., with honors. She has also studied at the Art Student’s League of Denver. She is well known for both her ala prima and plein air paintings.
The “High Plains Observer” notes: Marilyn Yanke grew up in Lipscomb, Texas, and now resides somewhere between here and there, where she spends most of her days painting in the dappled light of what seems like a tree house.
“Her medium is mostly oil, but she has tried them all. She is inspired by color and motion and how they relate to space. She uses impressionist colors in a style all her own as can be seen in her work in various stages of completion.”
Marilyn’s work has been included in multiple solo, two-person, group and invitational exhibitions. It is also included in the book “Best of Flower Painting 2,” published by North Light Books. She is a Signature Oil Painting Artist and an Elected member of the Allied Artists in New York.
