Best-known for his landscape paintings, Richard Fennell uses a rich palette of colors and highly developed brush techniques.
He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from East Carolina University in Greenville. He also studied sculpture with Peter Agostini.
His work has been shown in dozens of solo and group exhibitions, primarily in and around North Carolina. Corporate collections include Phillip Morris, Bank of America and others, as well as private collections.
Fennell describes his work: “My work, as personal as it is, is basically the study of light upon form and space. In pursuit of this study, I try to merge a visual truth of what is seen with basic abstract elements inherent in painting and nature.”
