Robert Kuester
Living in New Mexico since 1986, Robert Kuester paints still life, landscapes, figures and commissioned portraits in oils. A native of Iowa, Kuester spent two years at Drake University. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Fine Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.
After spending a required two years as an artist for the US Army Headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany, he returned to the States to pursue a career in art. Kuester spent a short while in New York before traveling to Detroit where he had the opportunity to illustrate and paint portraits for numerous national accounts such as CBS, Fox and Double Day.
His work is included in collections of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Valvoline Corp. and North Carolina University, among others. He has been featured in multiple publications including Art of the West and Southwest Art magazines. His awards include the Oil Painters of America Best of Show, Award of Excellence and the Union League Awards.
