Ron Flemmings
Ron Flemmings maintains a studio in Alexandria, VA. He’s had a lifelong interest in drawing and fine art, emphasizing harmony in color in his work. In 1964, when he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, Va., he was awarded a certificate for outstanding creative expression in the field of fine arts. He attended the School of Visual Arts in New York, where he was a fine arts major and took graphic design courses. His first job out of college was as an assistant art director for Young and Rubicon advertising in New York.
He’s continued to work as an art director, creative director, illustrator and designer. He says: “This has suited me very well as the line between ‘fine’ arts and ‘graphic’ arts is often indistinguishable. And, at the same time, I’ve always maintained my fine arts studio.”
His work has been included in solo and group shows in Virginia, Washington, D.C., Florida, New Mexico, Japan, Belgium and Holland, among others.
